1st – 2nd April
This two day course provides an overview of the special features that distinguish waterborne technology from other generic types, identifying different markets for coatings and comparing competing technologies. Case histories will be used to illustrate how market penetration is influenced by the current property mix, and what might be expected from future technical developments and legislation.
Designed for anyone who is either a newcomer to a paint related field or does not have a scientific background. It will be particularly useful to sales and marketing personnel. For anyone who has a knowledge of chemistry and needs a more comprehensive coverage of the technology of paint coatings you may find the ‘Paint Technology’ course more suitable.

29th March LCA is an internationally recognised tool used to quantify environmental impacts of a product throughout its life cycle. By taking a systems perspective, LCA tools help businesses understand the flows of energy and matter involved in a product system and can therefore be used to evaluate performance against a range of environmental indicators such as climate change, ozone depletion and marine toxicity.
11th – 12th February 2025 This two-day course is designed to help you gain an understanding of the fundamentals of paint technology, including why paints are used, different functional types, and the building blocks of a paint formula. We’ll explore the characteristics of a good paint in terms of performance and testing methods against a background of legislation & sustainability, and gain a commercial perspective of the major market sectors.
3rd to 6th March This course is a comprehensive and intensive four day course which aims to provide delegates with a firm foundation in the technology of organic surface coatings. The course gives an overview of the raw materials used in surface coatings and their contribution to the final properties of the coatings. The study of coating systems emphasises the changes taking place in modern technology.
10th – 12th November An intensive three-day course that provides a firm foundation in the chemistry, principles and applications of ultraviolet and electron beam technologies. A session on practical application is included, in our laboratory.
27th – 28th October This two day course provides an overview of the many factors involved in developing commercial liquid formulations. Participants are also shown how to locate sources of raw material information and to use formulating tools for creating formulating templates and calculating paint constants. There will be an introduction to the ‘Design of Experiments’ approach with an emphasis on mixture designs.
29th May A specialised one-day course exploring the latest developments in effect pigment technology, associated colour physics & dispersion machinery, and optimal pigment dispersion for use in paints & other media. You’ll also learn how to benchmark performance, especially for production of nano-size pigment dispersions and their use in coatings.
